Lauren Mayberry, along with IDLES frontman Joe Talbot, has collaborated on a new rendition of ‘Sorry, Etc, Etc’.
The Scottish artist is currently in a solo chapter of her career, with her new album ‘Vicious Creature’ – her first under her own name – available now.
The track ‘Sorry, Etc, Etc’, taken from the album, quickly became a favorite among fans, prompting Lauren Mayberry to make some adjustments by featuring a duet with Joe Talbot of IDLES.
Lauren shared: “If you know me, you are aware of how much I adore Idles, so it’s truly a privilege to reinterpret this song with Joe. We initially connected during Covid when I participated in his Balley TV YouTube series, and have been quietly supporting one another since. I reached out to Joe last summer about collaborating, and this is the song we chose. We recorded his vocals in December at Brighton Electric during a break in Idles' tour. I re-recorded my (screamier) vocals at home before Christmas with Sam Stewart, and it was produced by my friend Paul Gallagher.”
Joe Talbot expressed his thoughts: “It’s an honor and a pleasure to finally work with Lauren. I love the album and I’m thrilled to be involved. Forget the king, she’s the king x.”
Lauren Mayberry will launch her latest UK tour next week, kicking off at Barrowland Ballroom in Glasgow, with dates around the UK, including O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire on March 26th.
