Del Water Gap – Pursuing the Chimera

Del Water Gap – Pursuing the Chimera

      An impressive release...

      11 · 11 · 2025

Navigating through the shimmering waves of vibrant bedroom pop and ethereal soundscapes, we encounter the intricate and cinematic catalog of Brooklyn-based Samuel Holden Jaffe. Under the moniker Del Water Gap, he crafts stories deeply rooted in heartache, using a pen and string instruments. His third full-length album, ‘Chasing The Chimera,’ showcases Jaffe at his most extraordinary, with the mythical Chimera reflecting his identity and affinity for mystery. Wrapped delicately in a collection of twelve tracks, ‘Chasing The Chimera’ serves as Jaffe’s tribute to evocative indie folk.

The album sweeps through energizing, radio-friendly tracks like ‘Ghost In the Uniform’ while exploring rays of hope amid struggles with spiritual turmoil and aimlessness in songs like ‘How To Live.’ It juxtaposes reflective moments of romantic regret in ‘Marigolds’ with a desire to abandon past confessions of guilt and start afresh, unreservedly, in ‘We Don’t Have To Take It Slow.’

Overall, ‘Chasing The Chimera’ stands out as an impressive third album from Del Water Gap and solidifies his status as one of the most exciting artists of 2025.

Stellantis' American brands are actively working to reintroduce the Hemi V8, with the Dodge Durango at the forefront. Initially, when the company revealed plans to bring back the SRT Hellcat variant, it stated that sales would not be permitted in 17 states adhering to California Air Resources Board (CARB) emissions standards. However, that restriction has now been lifted in 10 states, leaving just seven where sales are still not allowed.

“In October, the Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat received approval for orders in 10 more CARB states, which include Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Virginia,” a Stellantis statement indicates. “It remains unavailable for sale in 7 states, down from 17 in August 2025. We are continuing to address policy changes and expect to be approved for orders in all 50 states by the end of this year. We plan to start orders for the Durango R/T 392 in the first quarter of 2026.”

The company seems optimistic about making the super SUV available nationwide soon. This development is surprising compared to the situation last summer, prompting us to inquire with Dodge about what changed. Were there any mechanical modifications? Did political dynamics shift? The phrase “work through policy changes” suggests some movement, but despite multiple inquiries, they have not provided a definitive answer.

Currently, only California, Massachusetts, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Vermont, and Washington remain as the states where the 710-horsepower Durango Hellcat cannot be purchased.

It’s possible that by January, the situation may evolve. However, it’s important to point out that non-Hellcat Durangos featuring the 5.7-liter V8 are available nationwide, as well as the 6.4-liter R/T model. Dodge mentioned back in August that the 360-hp Hemi would be the standard engine for future Durango production, with the V6 limited to fleet sales. Nonetheless, the brand's vehicle search tool continues to list numerous V6-powered GT vehicles on dealership lots, for those who might find 295 hp sufficient.
