Los Angeles-based artist Shelailai makes her return today with her latest empowering anthem, ‘No Touchy’.
With a focused intent, the single—both literally and metaphorically—sees the artist challenging her rivals over mechanical, industrial-inspired RnB.
Regarding the release, Shelailai shares:
“No Touchy is an empowerment anthem for the girls who step out looking like a million bucks and know it. It encapsulates that feeling of owning the room and drawing attention while also establishing boundaries—look all you want, but don’t touch. It embodies confidence, control, and main-character energy, wrapped in a fierce, feel-good track.”
The music video, directed by Tyler Winther, was filmed in a boxing gym, visually representing the liberating essence of Shelailai’s new chapter, which emphasizes dignity and bodily autonomy.
“The visuals serve as a metaphor for women’s right to exist peacefully without being touched, disrespected, or harassed, regardless of their appearance or surroundings.”
‘No Touchy’ follows her recent release 'Don’t Need Him', a dancefloor-ready hit that celebrated hedonism without attachment. This track marks another step in Shelailai’s musical evolution, succeeding her debut EP ‘Butterfly Effect’.
