Set to release on February 6th, Mandy, Indiana has announced their new album titled ‘URGH’.
The band's debut in 2023 quickly became a cult hit, with organic buzz transforming Mandy, Indiana into a notable underground phenomenon.
Recently signed to Sacred Bones, the group is back in action. Vocalist Valentine Caulfield, producer and guitarist Scott Fair, synth player Simon Catling, and drummer Alex Macdougall have finished their new album, which will be unveiled next year.
Scheduled for release on February 6th, ‘URGH’ was co-produced and co-mixed by Fair and Daniel Fox of Gilla Band, reportedly crafted during an intense residency at a haunting studio house located on the outskirts of Leeds.
The album is now available for pre-order and is led by the new single ‘Magazine’, which fuses harsh synths with post-punk arrangements and Caulfield’s French vocals.
Mandy, Indiana shared…
“‘Magazine’ expresses the frustration and profound rage I experienced while trying to heal from my rape. Like many victims of sexual assault, I will never attain justice, and as with most perpetrators, my attacker will face no consequences. My therapist advised me to channel my anger into something constructive, and here it is: my raw, passionate plea for vengeance. This is my only chance to confront my rapist: you caused me pain, so now I will cause you pain.”
The visualizer for the track was directed by Stephen Agnew – check it out now.
