Mandy, Indiana has announced that their second album, intriguingly titled 'URGH', is set to be released on February 6, 2026, through their new label, Sacred Bones. Following the groundwork established by their debut album ‘i’ve seen a way’ in 2023—which was recognized as one of DIY’s Top 20 albums of that year—'URGH' marks an expansion of the band's musical and creative horizons, with all four members taking an active role in the songwriting. The album also emerges from a period of turmoil, as vocalist Valentine Caulfield and drummer Alex Macdougall both underwent surgeries during its production, experiences that informed the album’s themes of internal suffering and external disorder. A notable example is the album's intense lead single ‘Magazine’ (available now), which Valentine has characterized as “a reflection of the frustration and deep-seated rage I experienced while working through my recovery from rape.” She further elaborates: “like many victims of sexual assault, I will never receive justice, and similar to most offenders, my attacker will not face consequences. My therapist advised me to redirect my anger into something constructive, and this is the result: my raw, raging demand for retribution. It represents my only way to confront my rapist: you caused me pain, and now I will make you feel pain.” You can listen to this impactful track here.
