On November 13, 2025, Tobias Jesso Jr. announced his plans for his first album in over ten years.
The songwriter made a remarkable debut in 2015, but he found it difficult to maintain his position in the limelight. As a result, Tobias Jesso Jr. transitioned to the background, where his talents began attracting the attention of some of pop music's biggest stars.
For instance, in 2025, he collaborated with Bon Iver, Dijon, HAIM, Justin Bieber, Maren Morris, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Dean, and many others.
During the last decade, Tobias focused on personal growth, and a brief six-week break earlier this year inspired a flood of new songs. The upcoming album ‘s h i n e’ emerged, featuring themes of mental health, fatherhood, love, and heartbreak, making it clear from the beginning that his name deserved to be front and center.
Throughout the process, ‘s h i n e’ was developed with assistance from Danielle Haim, Eli Teplin, Julian Bunetta, Justin Vernon, Rosie Hamilton, Tommy King, and even a psychic.
The album will be released on November 21st, and the new single ‘I Love You’ was just launched – a heartfelt, gentle track, with a cinematic video featuring Dakota Johnson and Riley Keough.
Tune in now.
