The London-based musician has released a series of impressive EPs, culminating in the outstanding ‘Limerence’ in 2023. With a strong songwriting presence, Jessica Winter has recently collaborated on various projects, including co-writing for the new Horrors album.
‘L.O.V.E.’ marks the singer's return to the forefront, featuring a solo track that embodies electronic allure. Skillfully crafted, it showcases Jessica Winter’s talents – blending light and shadow, pop sensibilities, and profound lyrics.
She is set to headline a performance at London’s Divine venue on April 15th, and ‘L.O.V.E.’ is paired with a new music video, which pays homage to Bob Fosse's iconic 1983 film, Star 80.
In the video, Jessica Winter takes the spotlight, participating in a photoshoot within her home.
Jessica reflects…
I penned this song a year before I recognized I was codependent; sometimes my music understands me better than I do... I aimed to encapsulate the sensation of infatuation at the beginning of the song, but by the conclusion, it naturally descends into something deeper, ending with soaring strings—the soundtrack of falling in love for me.
I chose to release ‘L.O.V.E.’ first because my perspective on love has shifted as I've been reflecting on and addressing codependency. Spelling it out feels so innocent, and it truly is. I'm breaking it down in an effort to grasp it. A musical inspiration was a compilation CD called Chilled Ibiza, which my brother and I would listen to every summer holiday while growing up.
