The Camden-based artist is set to unveil his upcoming EP...
Tommy Down has released his newest single, ‘Do You Want It All,’ through Declo Grey.
This track offers a calming experience from the Camden singer-songwriter, who channels his emotions into every studio session. Drawing inspiration from Mazzy Star, Radiohead, and Oasis, Down incorporates a grunge and psych-rock vibe into his music, featuring distorted acoustics, dreamy drum sections, and powerful vocal performances.
As he prepares for his upcoming EP, Tommy Down showcases his versatility, continually exploring new musical avenues. Having appeared in HBO's popular series Industry, the artist navigates genres from jazz to rock and soul, while reflecting on his British Ghanaian heritage throughout his creative journey.
With a deeply emotional appeal, Tommy Down comments on his recent release: “The song is influenced by some Radiohead tracks like ‘Creep’ but with a shoegaze twist. Mazzy Star also inspires me. The lyrics discuss holding onto your soul and values while seeking worldly possessions and fame. I even managed to include a Bob Marley quote: ‘Live for yourself and live in vain, but live for others and you will live again.’”
