The Gun in Homerton has shut down.

A cherished venue in East London...

The Gun in Homerton has closed its doors immediately.

This East London establishment was a beloved underground pub with a distinctive DJ lineup. With a limited capacity of 90, The Gun hosted numerous prominent artists, including Vladimir Ivkovic, Lena Willikens, Optimo, David Holmes, Daniel Avery, Ivan Smagghe, Manfredas, Marie Davidson, Decius, and many others.

Opening in 2014, the pub experienced significant hardships during the pandemic; a crowdfunding initiative that raised over £30,000 in just one day played a crucial role in securing its future.

Unfortunately, the ongoing challenges facing the hospitality industry have rendered The Gun unsustainable. With its immediate closure, The Compton Arms, another pub under the Locals Group owned by Nick Stephens and Hanna Sinclair Stephens, continues to operate.

Nick Stephens, the landlord, shared his thoughts on The Gun’s closure:

The Gun has encountered numerous difficulties over the years, and despite our best efforts, it has become unfeasible to keep it open. Locals Club would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated staff, patrons, and the many DJs who helped foster such a vibrant community at the pub. We hope to seize the opportunity to establish another music-oriented pub in a different location in the future. For now, we will concentrate on our successful Islington pub, The Compton Arms.
