I believe everyone can relate to the disparity between internal feelings and outward appearances.

You arrive at the hotel just after midnight. The engine hums too loudly in the stillness, and your thoughts race even faster. A valet approaches, taking your keys as you seize your bag and glance back one last time at the outside world before entering. “Welcome, sir,” he says with a nod – and just like that, you’ve stepped outside of your reality. You’ve crossed into something more peculiar, gentler, and darker. The air within buzzes with potential and tension. In the distance, a piano plays softly. “Welcome, we’ve been anticipating your arrival,” a voice echoes – robotic yet warm. “Enjoy your stay.” The doors close behind you, and your journey begins.
There’s a tempest brewing beneath 80purppp’s music – a raw, unfiltered honesty simmering beneath rich beats and melodious flows. With Suite 96, the emerging hip-hop artist unfolds the door to his innermost self, inviting listeners into an introspective exploration portrayed as a conceptual hotel. Each track represents another room, corridor, or floor, offering glimpses of his essence through visceral lyrics accompanied by an enchanting, seductive score: a smoldering sonic diary of emotional reckoning, personal growth, and the challenges of self-discovery.
“This record narrates my personal version of a trouble-in-paradise story,” 80purppp shares with Atwood Magazine. “I believe everyone can identify with the inner not aligning with the outer. There’s a strong sense of humanity there, making this project a tribute to my current place in the human experience.”
Suite 96 (Side A) – 80purppp
Released on February 28th via Violet High / Amuseio AB, Suite 96 (Side A) marks the first half of 80purppp's most daring, unfiltered project so far: A complex concept album that merges vivid world-building with deeply personal storytelling. From the opening of “HOTEL LOBBY” to the sensual melancholy of “BALCONY,” the English-born, Edmonton, Canada-based artist (born Nathan Oddoye) chronicles an internal landscape where comfort is elusive, identity is fluid, and truth resides in the tension between isolation and connection.
“I perceive this album to be the truest reflection of myself that I’ve created thus far in my career. I wasn't aware of what I was getting into while creating it. My aim was to produce my best work, but what emerged turned out to have far more layers than I anticipated,” he confesses.
“I am literally discovering myself throughout this album. I'm navigating the halls of the Neverland Hotel in real-time, reflecting in Suite 96. Sharing what I’ve uncovered on this journey is one of the most incredible privileges I've ever experienced as a musician. This album cost me my comfort, and many relationships as well, which ironically were themes heavily scrutinized during the production process. It was all worthwhile to bring the 96th suite and the Neverland Hotel from my spirit into reality.”

What arises is not merely a concept album but a vibrant, living self-portrait: one that resists catering to anyone’s expectations but his own. As 80purppp points out, Suite 96 represents a pivotal moment – not only in sound but in his self-identification.
“I believe this album is more unapologetic,” he says, in comparison to earlier works like If Anything (2022) and Violet High (2019). “I’m no longer trying to fit in or make myself more appealing to the masses. I truly feel like if you like it, you like it. Just as if you like me, you like me. If not, that’s perfectly fine.”
This sense of self-assurance permeates every aspect of the album, but it didn’t come without growth. The more 80purppp immersed himself in his inner world, the more it shifted beneath him.
“The creative process demands change, so the initial vision in my mind undeniably diverged from the final outcome,” he contemplates. “Nevertheless, I’m proud to say I remained true to myself and expanded upon what I originally intended to express.”
He openly describes the final creation as raw, authentic, and satirical – an album that not only tells a story but becomes the story itself. Suite 96 serves as both a mirror and a metaphor: a surreal, deeply personal endeavor to articulate his internal experience into something concrete, cinematic, and lived. The album’s title signifies an active
