Electronic artist aya has released her new album ‘hexed!’ in its entirety.

The producer’s versatile artistry shone through on her debut album ‘im hole’, which came out on Hyperdub in 2021. Both abrasive and astutely intelligent, aya blends various UK bass elements with scorched industrial sounds, embodying a punk-like aesthetic.

The new album ‘hexed!’ elevates her work even further. Central themes of addiction, mental anguish, and survival run throughout the record, with the production courageously showcasing intensity and rawness.

Partially inspired by aya’s ongoing live performances—she has played at venues like Barbican, No Bounds, Unsound, Berlin Atonal, Mutek, and more—there is a powerful energy in the album.

Additionally, it incorporates a sense of humor—dark and morbid, yet this irreverence illuminates some of the more challenging moments.

Now available, ‘hexed!’ signifies the blossoming of a distinctive voice in electronic music production.

This Spring, aya will take her live show on a brief UK tour, with stops including London’s Ormside and Manchester’s influential The White Hotel.
