Lilian Hak is debuting her latest single, ‘I Will Ever Be Your Head’.
This cinematic piece from the Dutch artist immerses listeners in her new album, ‘RESET’. Drawing inspiration from Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice and Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window, the song examines the connection between our current digital landscape and voyeurism, giving a modern twist to a classic narrative. Set against a rich, smoky backdrop, Hak shines with a dazzling performance reminiscent of a James Bond soundtrack.
In recent years, Lilian Hak has honed her sound, creating a lavish blend of indie, soultronic, and pop. As a collaborative artist who has appeared on festival stages and theaters, ‘RESET’ marks a new chapter in Hak’s journey, showcasing her strengths as an independent musician.
Reflecting on the lead single ‘I Will Ever Be Your Head’, Hak says: “I began with the lyrics. The bass riff and trombone section formed the backbone of the track. I then added layers of horns, guitars, and lush vocal harmonies. After managing the pre-production on my own, I entered the studio with my producer to record the drums, bass, and guitars, followed by multiple layers of vocals to enhance the depth.”
