We Are Scientists will be releasing their new album, ‘Qualifying Miles,’ on July 18th.
The renowned American indie rock band returns with their ninth studio album. Fronted by longtime friends Keith Murray and Chris Cain, We Are Scientists have created an entirely new 12-track collection set to be released this summer through Greenland Records.

Currently, We Are Scientists’ writing approach involves continuously producing music—be it great songs, bad ones, heartfelt tracks, or silly numbers. It’s an enjoyable process, but it can make it challenging to transition to the more demanding task of recording the actual album.
At times, a song like ‘Please Don’t Say It’ can ignite such excitement about sharing it with others that there’s no option but to conclude the writing phase and jump straight into making the record. Our enthusiasm for ‘Please Don’t Say It’ made it the final song we composed for ‘Qualifying Miles’; we felt it needed to be released.
Regarding the song, Keith states: “I’m always glad to express all sorts of drama in a song; just don’t make me discuss it face-to-face, okay? ‘Please Don’t Say It’ is, I suppose, a song about being hesitant to address my flaws anywhere except in that very track. Yet, here I am, talking about using the song to avoid the conversation. Strange.”
Now available with an atmospheric music video, ‘Please Don’t Say It’ embodies the classic We Are Scientists sound. Keith further comments…
