The Maccabees have revealed an intimate comeback concert to support the MS Society. The performance is scheduled for The Dome in Tufnell Park on Friday, June 20th, just before the band embarks on their UK and European tour. Guitarists Felix and Hugo White are the driving force behind this charitable event. As ambassadors for the MS Society, they have championed the cause throughout their careers, particularly after losing their mother to multiple sclerosis (MS) during their teenage years. MS impacts over 150,000 individuals in the UK, with 135 new diagnoses each week. This small concert, which has a capacity of 300, will mark the first occasion the band has performed together in eight years. Earlier this year, they announced their reunion for a UK and EU tour this summer, including a headline performance at the All Points East Festival on Sunday, August 24th, much to the excitement of their fans. "It’s going to be a special night," guitarist Felix White commented. “This event is significant for us since MS is a cause we deeply care about. When we decided to reunite, we wanted to find a way to support the MS Society again.” Brother Hugo added, “Our mum had MS, so we understand the profound impact it can have on young people and families. We have always tried to raise awareness and funds for the MS Society, and we’re thrilled to host this event.” Tickets for the concert will be available through a ballot that is currently open. Each ticket costs £5, and fans can apply for a maximum of two tickets. Successful applicants will be notified on Monday, June 2nd, and will be charged £20 (plus booking fees) per ticket, with all proceeds going to the MS Society’s Stop MS Appeal. Lostboycrow's fourth album, 'The Sound of God Laughing,' combines musical innovation with emotional richness and personal narratives, encapsulating both the subtle and grand experiences of life.
Emily Elbert's "God Is Change" is a heartfelt and spiritually infused anthem that explores themes of grief, growth, and surrender. It emanates deep emotion, subtle strength, and powerful sound as the talented guitarist interprets Octavia Butler’s insights into a profoundly cathartic experience. The piece serves as an intimate and detailed meditation on impermanence, personal tranquility, resilience, and humanity's ability to withstand and transform.
The performance is scheduled to occur in Tufnell Park this summer, prior to the band's UK and European tour.
