As summer begins, CLASH and Bread and Butter have joined forces to introduce the ‘CLASH Lounge,’ which will launch on Thursday, May 29th. This space is designed for creatives to express themselves, network, collaborate, work, relax, thrive, and grow, both during the day and at night.
We share a common vision of community, ambition, and the belief in supporting music and fashion from their foundational stages to larger platforms.
The Bread and Butter ‘Clash Lounge’ will officially open on May 29th, inviting everyone to an all-day launch party from 11 am to 11:30 pm, offering free coffee and drinks from 11 am to 6 pm. In the evening, we will host Bread and Butter’s ‘Sessions,’ featuring live performances to entertain you well into the night. Starting May 29th, the Bread and Butter ‘Clash Lounge’ will be open to serve you from Tuesday to Sunday, 11 am until late.
CLASH, a heavyweight champion in the scene, brings two decades of experience and a vast network of creatives, showcasing the best of popular culture through its print platform. Bread and Butter has established itself as a key destination in East London, pioneering grassroots creative and vintage scenes throughout the city.
Originating from Depop, the B&B collective now offers a vintage store, workspaces, a lounge bar, a music studio (@matteroftime.wav), and a photo studio (@breadandbutterstudios), serving an amazing creative community across vibrant East London neighborhoods such as Shoreditch and Hackney Wick. The entire project functions as an ecosystem of diverse talent focused on community engagement and experimentation.
During the day, we will provide the finest locally roasted coffee, fresh pastries, and sandwiches, while visitors can enjoy focused work with headphones or just relax and soak in the best new music in an inspiring environment. By night, the space transforms into a lively venue where the community comes together. The programming on Thursday and Friday nights is not to be missed.
On May 29th, we will launch our ‘Sessions’ event series curated by CLASH & VIRTUO, a format for which Bread and Butter has gained significant acclaim. ‘Sessions’ occur bi-weekly to celebrate grassroots RnB, alt-rap, and hip-hop music, featuring three artists in each lineup, with intimate semi-acoustic performances followed by an open cypher that invites anyone in attendance to join. The energy at these events is electric! The next one is scheduled for May 29th, featuring performances from Ronni, Tyson Venegas, and Queen Kaltoum; tickets can be obtained HERE.
Fridays will feature DJs setting the vibe at Bread and Butter, delivering expertly curated mixes through ‘Frequencies’ and ‘MOT Presents.’ Patrons can expect a diverse range of talent in electronic music, from house to techno and break beats to jungle, in collaboration with partner studio ‘Matter Of Time’ (MOT).
‘Frequencies’ will take place on Friday, May 30th, showcasing Live Laugh Layla along with DJs Cloubee, Mia Lily, Patrice, and Aum. Be sure to secure your tickets HERE.
Another event, ‘Matter of Time Presents,’ will occur on Friday, June 6th, highlighting the Ukrainian techno collective ‘Zabava,’ promising an exhilarating night; get your tickets HERE.
The enthusiasm surrounding this collaboration is palpable, as we continue to strengthen our ties with the communities we engage with; the potential for growth is immense.
In our initial collaboration, CLASH played a role in supporting and promoting the sold-out Shutter Sessions Festival, Bread and Butter’s flagship all-day music event held at our Hackney Wick studio. This festival showcased over 30 emerging artists and DJs, headlined by KeepVibesNear and Kida Kudz. Due to its success, plans for a second edition are already underway, scheduled to return in late June.
