There’s something profoundly transformative about choosing happiness amid uncertainty. It’s about embracing color, lightness, and playfulness not as an escape, but as a pathway forward. Kiddo, Vol. 2 acknowledges the chaos – it dances with it, nurtures it, and celebrates it in vibrant hues. This music creates space for life's challenges while maintaining a sense of wonder.
Spring Term’s Kiddo, Vol. 2 is a bright wave of enchantment – both playful and poignant, exuberant and tender, endlessly inquisitive and emotionally mature beyond its years. This indie pop EP naturally extends from Spring Term’s 2022 EP Kiddo, continuing a coming-of-age tale that merges reality with imagination, memory with fantasy. Through four uplifting songs brimming with clever lyrics and experimental sounds, Nathan Davis, an Indianapolis-based singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, delves into the complexities and magic of adolescence – addressing love, self-discovery, fear, vulnerability, and joy with unyielding sincerity and childlike curiosity. The result is a strikingly vivid world of melody and meaning, where everything feels tactile, purposeful, and alive.
KIDDO, VOL. 2 – Spring Term
Hey, I don’t have much to say
I don’t have much to say to you for now
Hey, now I have to confront change
When I tally it up, I’ll share everything
Maybe I'm a starman
Maybe I can soar into the sun
of sweet nothing
Add it all up one by one
I don’t have much to say to you, my love

Atwood Magazine is excited to premiere Kiddo, Vol. 2, Spring Term’s most expansive and expressive project yet: A genre-blending, heartfelt exploration of growing up, making mistakes, asking questions, and learning to live with uncertainty. Released independently on May 30th, 2025, this four-track album is a lively and uplifting escape, perfect for spring adventures and summer daydreams – where we aim to feel our best while navigating life's challenges, both past and present.
“This album continues the exploration of childhood that began with my first EP, Kiddo,” Davis tells Atwood Magazine. “After spending my formative years in bands, I wanted to launch this solo project with a series that chronicles growing up over multiple releases. This EP focuses on the later years of childhood through adolescence.”
“My initial intention was to maintain the storytelling style from the first EP in a straightforward manner. However, as I embraced a more childlike sense of curiosity, the lines between factual storytelling, fiction, and fairy tales began to blur. Every song started with real moments from my life but evolved into something more imaginative and expansive.”

That blurring creates the magic of Kiddo, Vol. 2: It inhabits the spaces between past and present, real and fantastical – a project grounded in truth and overflowing with wonder.
Each song originates from personal recollections, but through Davis' vivid perspective, they transform into lively, playful, and poetic experiences. These tracks aren't just songs; they’re scenes, sensations, and tiny universes – woven together by humor, warmth, and sonic intricacies.
“Performing the songs live before completing the recordings also made a significant impact,” Davis adds. “It influenced the energy and direction of the production, as seen in how ‘Bracelet’ took on a more rock-and-roll vibe towards the end, thanks to my friend Saint Aubin, who played drums with me on tour.”
By now I’ve memorized your name, babe
Imagined the ways I could say it
I know it’s been quiet
Now I’m ready to reach out
This gift is intertwined and braided
Its vibrant hues are waiting
Will you show them off in public?
The balloon in the sky
Do wear them openly
(You) Be Cuzan, I’ll be Chalpol
I bought you a bracelet, darling
Let me help you put it on
