The new album 'Escape Room' is set to release in August.
Teyana Taylor has unveiled her first new music in five years with the track 'Long Time', a synthetic RnB dreamscape.
Released today under Def Jam Recordings, the single serves as a digital expression of grief. Taylor engages in auto-fiction as she navigates the challenges of a relationship that has overstayed its welcome.
This single is a precursor to her upcoming album 'Escape Room', which will debut this August. Described as an “audio-visual experience blending post-apocalyptic themes with futuristic noir romance,” Taylor took charge of writing, directing, and producing it through her all-female production firm, The Aunties.
The accompanying short film visually embodies the album, depicting the nuanced effects of life's journey, ranging from the darkness of heartbreak to the brightness of healing.
'Escape Room' follows Taylor’s intricate pandemic-inspired work, 'The Album', which was featured on our Albums Of The Year list.
