Skepta has reacted to Joyner Lucas challenging him to a clash.
It was quite an entertaining weekend online, with American and British rappers going head-to-head, discussing the value of a major clash.
Having just performed at Glastonbury with only four hours' notice – and attracting one of the largest crowds of the weekend – Skepta was at the heart of the discussion, insisting on the importance of British rap heritage.
American rapper Joyner Lucas issued a challenge, leading to a humorously sharp reply from Skepta.
The North London artist proclaimed that “you’re just padding the numbers out there” while stating: “When I create my diss track for [A$AP] Rocky, I’m going to give you two bars…”
In a clip, Skepta reflects that “this is just another example of ignorance” before adding: “I didn’t put in all the effort I’ve made just for Joyner Lucas to be mentioning my name…”
Looking back on his career, the BBK icon remarked: “I’ve got diss tracks on YouTube with 30 million views… no ad libs. It’s different levels, bro.”
