Having recently returned with their comeback single "Spain," Home Counties have officially announced the release of their new album, "Humdrum," set to drop on 24th October through Submarine Cat Records. This album follows their 2024 debut, "Exactly As It Seems," and features production by Al Doyle (of Hot Chip and LCD Soundsystem). The band noted that this collaboration provided them with the opportunity to experiment and refine their sounds in a way they hadn't done in prior releases. They further explained, “It also fostered a more collaborative atmosphere in the studio, allowing us to perform together on the same synthesizer to capture more authentic performances from electronic instruments.” In addition to revealing details about "Humdrum" (see the complete tracklist below), Home Counties have also released the title track—a fast-paced, energetic song that skillfully balances synth-driven chaos. Co-vocalist Will Harrison described "'Humdrum' as reflecting the feeling of being held back by saying the wrong thing in various situations, whether at work or socially." He elaborated, “It captures the embarrassment of replaying conversations in your head after they’ve occurred and the frustration of thinking of better responses afterward. It also touches on feeling envious of those who can speak without saying much and still come out successfully.” You can listen to "Humdrum" here:
