Italian-American jazz artist Niia has announced her upcoming album ‘V’, set for release on October 11th through Candid Records.
Collaborating with producer Spencer Zahn – recognized for his fusion of jazz, ambient, and modern classical styles (notably ‘Pigments’ with Dawn Richards) and Lawrence Rothman, ‘V’ marks a significant return for Niia to her beginnings as a jazz-trained artist.
This collection responds to a lingering question she has mulled over in recent years: “What does a contemporary jazz singer sound like?”
To kick off this new chapter, Niia has unveiled the two singles, ‘Throw My Head Out The Window’ and ‘Ronny Cammareri’. Collectively, these tracks provide a preview of the intricate musicianship, evolving styles, and emotional richness that characterize the album. They follow her recent interpretation of the classic 1946 jazz standard ‘Angel Eyes’, which premiered earlier this month.
The album is described as Niia’s most intimate and genre-blurring project to date; a poignant, soulful investigation of modern longing, loss, and liberation.
