The Los Angeles-based duo PARTYOF2 – Jadagrace and Swim – has released their latest single ‘JUST DANCE 2’ through Def Jam Recordings.
Moving beyond their challenging past, which they explored in the poignant EP ‘we owe you an explanation’, ‘JUST DANCE 2’ signifies a new beginning rooted in freedom and musical experimentation.
In true PARTYOF2 style, ‘JUST DANCE 2’ offers a thrilling journey through the realms of rap and dance-pop, blending references with innovation.
Regarding the track, produced by SWIM, Danes Blood, and Dave Marcus, PARTYOF2 express: “'Just Dance 2' resonates with us as Black artists navigating the chaos of the world while remaining dedicated to our art. When everything seems overwhelming, we find our release in music and creativity. This song is our means of survival—utilizing our art to make sense of a fractured world while still discovering moments of joy amid the disorder.”
The release is accompanied by a self-directed video that reflects the duo's mindset following deep contemplation about their surroundings; it's chaotic, subversive, and incredibly enjoyable.
