The Northern Irish group Kneecap has been compelled to cancel their forthcoming American tour.

They were set to begin a comprehensive tour across the United States in October, which included 15 sold-out performances. Unfortunately, due to Kneecap’s ongoing legal issues, the shows have now been canceled.

Rapper Mo Chara – Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh – is scheduled to attend a court hearing in London on September 26th, and the timing appears to have rendered the American dates unfeasible.

In their statement, Kneecap criticized what they described as a “witch-hunt” by the British government, while vowing to launch “an even bigger tour for all you amazing fans.”

      The message reads:

“To our fans in the US, we have some unfortunate news. Because of the proximity of our next court hearing in London on September 26 – amidst the ongoing witch-hunt by the British government – we must cancel all 15 U.S. tour dates in October. It saddens us to share this since all shows were fully sold out. However, once we win our court case, which we will, we promise to undertake an even larger tour for all you fantastic supporters. Our Canadian shows are NOT impacted, and we will still perform our 4 sold-out shows in Vancouver and Toronto.

We also have some good news. We will be revealing something very special for our U.S. fans next week, enabling us to connect with you all in October. It’s a top-secret announcement for now, but everything will be disclosed next week – stay tuned.

      And remember…

‘The revolution will be no re-run, brothers

      The revolution will be live.”

Refunds are available at the point of purchase.
