Parlour Conversations: Tiwa Savage

Summer is a time filled with positivity and energy, a period characterized by sunshine, brightness, and a hopeful spirit. As these warm summer days come to an end, Clash has partnered with Magnum Ice Cream for Parlour Talks, a unique video series designed to offer fans an extra taste of their beloved artists. Indeed, this represents our Magnum Opus—a distinctive project driven by Magnum ice cream that celebrates a sensual paradise.

The lively host Nella Rose needs little introduction; her joyful spirit recently landed her on the cover of Clash. In this installment of our Parlour Talks series, she welcomes the afro-pop pioneer Tiwa Savage as her third guest.

The Nigerian artist has shattered barriers for women in the afro-pop genre, playing a crucial role in its evolution. Drawing influences from R&B, pop, soul, and hip-hop, Tiwa has established an international reputation through her unwavering excellence.

A versatile talent, she has also received recognition as an actress, but her true passion lies in music.

During the episode, Nella Rose and Tiwa Savage taste Magnum Ice Cream’s newest flavors, leading to a lively and humorous atmosphere filled with playful double meanings from this dynamic duo of powerful women.

Tiwa shares some insights into the creation of her latest album, ‘This One Is Personal,’ discusses her collaboration with UK icon Skepta, and imparts valuable lessons on achieving inner peace.

“I’m very competitive,” Tiwa Savage states. “After experiencing so much… you have to turn inward.”

It was a privilege to host Nella Rose and Tiwa Savage for this conversation, bringing our Parlour Talks series to a grand close with a heartfelt tribute to summer. Don’t miss the earlier episodes featuring Maleek Berry and Leigh-Anne available on our Magnum Opus hub.
