The Italian producer DJ explores his international influences...
On October 30, 2025, Canetis has unveiled his newest single, ‘JOANA’.
Crafting a tribute to Brazil, the Italian DJ presents a lively and enjoyable track. From beginning to end, he weaves together elements of Brazilian funk and house music, layering smooth rap verses over a rhythmic, samba-influenced production.
Hailing from Milan, Mark Mannara creates a sound that transcends borders, reflecting the evolution of European dance music. Throughout his career, he has performed for audiences in the US, Mexico, Canada, Brazil, and Italy, absorbing the diverse influences of his adventures.
Reflecting on the making of this track, Canetis explains: "The inspiration for ‘JOANA’ stemmed from a crush on my best friend's best friend. Everyone has or has had a Joana in their life – someone unattainable or unavailable that we've fantasized about."
He adds, “‘JOANA’ embodies a carefree Brazilian girl who goes out, enjoys life, and embraces fun without reservations. The song is a tribute to the Brazilian spirit and their zest for life.”
