"This is my most explicitly queer work to date..."

Kentucky-born pop experimentalist Cain Culto has released a dynamic new EP.

The forward-thinking songwriter completely disregards pop conventions while maintaining a strong focus on communication. Cain Culto made a comeback this summer, unveiling a series of groundbreaking singles, including the politically driven track ‘KFC Santería’ and the atmospheric ‘Brujería’.

The new EP ‘occulto 001’ is now available, presenting a potent and provocative collection. It merges elements of Latin culture with a quest to confront the mysteries of pop without compromising his uniqueness.

      He shares his thoughts...

“I have a deep appreciation for pop music, but I aimed to create something that felt like a project only I could produce – tapping into a level of authenticity I may not have explored before. I can hear my childhood in Kentucky, my adolescence where I fell in love with rap and dance music in Florida, and the spiritual journey of my 20s.”

“This is my most openly queer work to date. It’s striking both sonically and lyrically. Even with just six tracks, ‘occulto 001’ conveys a diverse range of emotions and provides a glimpse of what will develop into a full-length album next year.”
