Fatboy Slim has officially unveiled his cult favorite mash-up with The Rolling Stones, titled ‘Satisfaction Skank’.
In 1999, the British dance music icon was riding high on the success of his landmark album ‘You’ve Come A Long Way… Baby’ in the United States. While performing at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, Fatboy Slim had a moment of inspiration, merging his current single ‘The Rockafeller Skank’ with The Rolling Stones’ classic ‘(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction’.
This mash-up quickly became a staple of his performances, yet he was unable to secure a formal release. The newly named ‘Satisfaction Skank’ became legendary among fans, with enterprising bootleggers even producing unauthorized 12-inch vinyls to satisfy demand.
Now, Fatboy Slim’s aspirations have finally come to fruition. After overcoming legal challenges, ‘Satisfaction Skank’ is officially available, 25 years after its inception.
