Swedish pop singer Zara Larsson has criticized the American organization ICE in a series of posts on social media.

The extrajudicial agency has faced global outcry following the death of Renee Nicole Good during an ICE operation in Minneapolis.

Last night, thousands rallied in the streets of the city, calling for ICE to leave Minneapolis and for accountability for the officers involved.

Zara Larsson posted a message on IG Stories expressing her love for various minority groups, but she stated that she "fucking hate[s] ICE…"

This comment sparked significant debate online, prompting Zara to issue a follow-up statement.

In her subsequent message, she stood firm, discussing how her friends have been treated by the U.S. visa system, and labeled ICE as "criminals."

      Her second statement states:

"People in my DMs are like 'aahhhh criminals?!?!?!?' Girl YES, heavy on that 😛😛 crap. The reason my sweet, loving, kind, caring, compassionate, smart, generous, talented, thoughtful man hasn’t been able to visit me in the U.S. since we got together nearly 6 years ago is that he has a criminal record. Guess for what! Weed! Hahahahaha like?? Who cares?!? Actually, correction! He USED to have a record. It's been so long since he smoked that spliff that it’s officially gone from his name, yet he still can't enter. We spend months apart each year because of a little spliff over 6 years ago. I’m not saying it should be legal… wait… yes I am – but that’s another topic. I’m just saying there are thousands who end up in jail or prison for non-violent offenses like drug use, mostly black and brown people because of Ronald Reagan’s racist policies in the 80s that destroyed communities. I don’t know about you, but I’d rather have someone smoking crack on my couch than a fucking ICE agent, ewww. They’re criminals too. Killing, kidnapping, violent, hateful ones."
