Big Thief has released an unannounced EP titled ‘Passional Relations’, which is a charity effort aimed at raising funds for organizations aiding Los Angeles communities impacted by the wildfires that struck California in January. The trio's last music release was in 2023 with standalone singles ‘Vampire Empire’ and ‘Born For Loving You’, while their latest album, ‘Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You’, came out in 2022. In the interim, lead vocalist Adrianne Lenker released her solo album ‘Bright Future’ (2024) and headlined the Green Man festival last year. Regarding their new five-track EP, the band stated: “Our hearts are broken for everyone affected by the fires in California. We’ve compiled some of our favorite unreleased songs into an EP called ‘Passional Relations’, available exclusively on our webstore, with all proceeds directed towards relief efforts for those impacted by the fires in Los Angeles.” Big Thief has confirmed that a significant portion of the funds raised from the EP will be contributed to the Plus1LA Fires Fund, while the remaining amount will support musicians, artists, and local community members. The band expresses hope that “these contributions will not only address the urgent and essential needs of affected communities, but also help to sustain the work, identity, and culture of the artists within them.” You can purchase ‘Passional Relations’ here, and view its tracklisting below. ‘Passional Relations’ tracklisting: 1.
