Sam Fender will serve as the ambassador for Record Store Day this year.
The North East artist's new album, 'People Watching,' is set to release this month, after which Sam Fender will embark on a series of stadium performances.
Staying true to his roots, he has been appointed as the latest ambassador for Record Store Day, joining the ranks of notable stars such as Kate Bush, Taylor Swift, the 1975, Noel Gallagher, and Elton John.
In a statement, Sam expresses…
It’s truly a privilege to be named the Ambassador for Record Store Day 2025. The role of independent stores is invaluable. Without them, we risk losing physical spaces where music lovers can discover their favorite new artists and build connections with others who share their interests.
This year is particularly exciting for me and the band with the release of our new album, ‘People Watching’. We were fortunate to collaborate with the family of the legendary North East photographer Tish Murtha and incorporate her photography into the album's artwork for all formats.
In line with RSD tradition, Sam Fender is releasing a limited edition EP for the occasion. Titled 'Me And The Dog' EP, it features six tracks and will only be available in participating shops on Saturday, April 12th.
The songwriter adds:
The EP we’re launching for Record Store Day is named “Me And The Dog EP,” which was initially considered as the title for the new album, making it feel fitting for it to have its own spotlight. We’ve included two previously unreleased songs – ‘I’m Always On Stage’ and ‘Empty Spaces’.
A big thank you to all the independent stores around the globe that support us. Let's make sure to give them our support in return.
