Elton John and Brandi Carlile have announced their plans for a new collaborative album.
The news was shared with fans in the most charming way—through a personalized letter sent from Elton to some of his most loyal supporters.
Now for the details. The upcoming album, titled ‘Who Believes In Angels?’, is set to be released on April 4th. Elton John and Brandi Carlile worked on the project at the renowned Sunset Studios in LA, with long-time Elton collaborator Bernie Taupin and producer Andrew Watt joining them.
Starting from scratch, the team committed to completing a full album from beginning to end within just 20 days. Throughout the process, Elton and Brandi were accompanied by an exceptional group of musicians including Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Pino Palladino (Nine Inch Nails, Gary Numan, and David Gilmour), and Josh Klinghoffer (Pearl Jam, Beck).
Elton stated...
“This record was among the most challenging I’ve ever created, yet it was also one of the most rewarding musical experiences of my life. It has provided me with a clear path forward. Who Believes In Angels? feels like stepping into a new era, and I’m opening the door to the future. I have all my past work behind me, which has been brilliant and amazing. However, this signifies a fresh start for me. In my view, this marks the beginning of my career's second chapter.”
Brandi added: “I’m still amazed that I had the opportunity to be part of this. With Elton John’s high standards for songwriting, I believe that everyone benefits. The environment was exceptionally inspiring and challenging, with everyone sharing ideas and listening to one another. It felt like a family. Given the chaotic state of the world, finding peace and joy is difficult. Actively seeking joyful and euphoric experiences is a bold move, and that is what this album means to me.”
The duo will host a special performance at the London Palladium on March 26th—pre-order the album now for a chance to obtain tickets.
