It's a daring environmentally-friendly initiative...
Massive Attack will headline this summer's LIDO Festival in London, utilizing 100% battery power.
The band has a strong history of advocating for eco-friendly practices in touring, leveraging the latest technology to support their efforts. They elevated their commitment during a special hometown performance in Bristol last summer by introducing a range of new green initiatives.
Scheduled to return to London for their first concert in nearly ten years, Massive Attack will headline Victoria Park’s LIDO Festival on June 6th.
The group will perform a set that spans their entire career, powered entirely by batteries to enhance the audio-visual experience. The live show will be crafted in collaboration with Robert Del Naja, United Visual Artists, and documentarian Adam Curtis.
Through their ongoing relationship with clean energy provider Ecotricity, their performance at LIDO will run completely on battery power, significantly cutting both carbon emissions and local air pollution.
Also featured in the lineup is the renowned French electronic group AIR, whose impressive performance at London's Royal Albert Hall last year was marked as one of the highlights of 2024.
LIDO Festival will also host Yasiin Bey and The Alchemist, along with FORENSICS and Tirzah, with more acts yet to be announced.

Discussing the event, Robert Del Naja (3D) stated:
“To host London’s inaugural 100% battery powered festival day with a diverse range of artists is a fantastic achievement for us. History demonstrates that the fusion of art and science can address the significant challenges we encounter, so it's encouraging to see LIDO apply insights from our ACT1.5 event last year to target emissions sources. Initiatives towards clean productions are excellent news for everyone, especially for music lovers attending festivals and the surrounding communities they inhabit.”
Tickets will be available for purchase starting February 21st.
Massive Attack will perform at LIDO Festival on June 6th.
