Perfume Genius, the ongoing project of Mike Hadreas, has released the second single from his upcoming seventh album, ‘Glory’. Following last month's ‘It’s A Mirror’, ‘No Front Teeth’ features New Zealand artist Aldous Harding and starts off as a subtle, haunting piece before erupting into hedonistic guitar sounds a few minutes later. This track is part of Hadreas’ anticipated album ‘Glory’, set to be released on March 28 via Matador Records, which will consist of eleven songs. The album marks his return to producer Blake Mills, who he collaborated with on his previous three albums: ‘Ugly Season’, 2020’s ‘Set My Heart on Fire Immediately’, and 2017's ‘No Shape’. This time, however, the recording was a more collaborative effort, with Mike working alongside various musicians, including guitarists Meg Duffy and Greg Uhlmann, drummers Tim Carr and Jim Keltner, bassist Pat Kelly, and the previously mentioned Harding. In addition to the new single, a captivating video has been released featuring both Mike and Aldous in a surreal fever dream filled with themes of lust, violence, and the chaotic making of waffles. The video, directed by Cody Critcheloe, can be viewed below. To celebrate the launch of ‘Glory’, Perfume Genius has also been announced as a headliner for this year’s BBC 6 Music festival; he will perform at Manchester’s O2 Victoria Warehouse on March 29 alongside Kae Tempest and SHERELLE. Additionally, he has arranged a special intimate headline concert in London on March 27 at The ICA. Tickets for this headline show will go on general sale next Tuesday (February 25) starting at 10 am. Below is his upcoming concert schedule.
