Goldie is returning with news of a forthcoming album.
As a pivotal figure in DNB, the producer is revisiting his roots with the new record. Goldie presents Rufige Kru emphasizes his dedication to breakbeat-infused futurism, and the album ‘Alpha Omega’ is set to release on May 16th via London Records, the same label that first launched Goldie nearly 30 years ago.
In a full circle moment, ‘Alpha Omega’ draws from Goldie’s sound system origins while also showcasing groundbreaking innovation.
Goldie states…
“It’s a reinvention. We’ve returned to the source and built from that. My goal was to craft something that truly embodies what this music represents … and its future direction.”
Listen to the new single ‘Still The Same’. Crafted by Goldie and SubMotive, the track features powerful vocals from the mysterious rapper CASISDEAD.
This collaboration has been in the making for years, and the sci-fi-themed video was directed by Elliott Gonzo; Goldie plays an AI overlord, while CASISDEAD portrays the vigilante tasked with tracking him down in a dystopian future setting.
Regarding the video for ‘Still The Same’, director Elliott Gonzo remarks: “It was a tremendous honor to work with these icons in the industry. The creative freedom and trust I was granted allowed me to push the limits of what’s achievable with new technology, merging animation and virtual production. Huge thanks to my co-director, Buse Simon, for helping to bring these new worlds to existence.”
