The transatlantic duo Prima Queen, comprising Louise Macphail and Kristin McFadden, have unveiled a new preview of their upcoming debut album, ‘The Prize’. The band, who have previously released several tracks from their anticipated full-length, including other four-letter titles like ‘Fool’ and ‘Ugly’, have now introduced the playful track ‘Oats’. Regarding their latest single, the band stated, “After deciding against writing another sad song, we aimed to create a lighthearted perspective on the chaos of contemporary dating. ‘Oats’ depicts the all-too-familiar tale of a romance's ups and downs. It's easy to take romantic missteps to heart, but often they stem from others' unresolved past issues. It's crucial to maintain your self-worth and feel empowered to walk away! No one should be craving love; it should come in abundance.” This track arrives ahead of the album release on April 25 through their new label, Submarine Cat Records. Produced by Steph Marziano (known for working with Hayley Williams, Picture Parlour, and Nell Mescal), this twelve-track album is set to follow their 2023 ‘Not The Baby’ EP, and the band describes it as a record that “exudes empowerment and strength”. In addition to their debut album release, the band will soon embark on a UK and Europe tour in May. Below is their upcoming live schedule along with the vibrant video for ‘Oats’.
