New single 'Psilocybin & Daisies' is now available...
Jessie Reyez is set to release her new album 'Paid In Memories' on March 28th.
The artist recently hinted at her comeback through social media, suggesting a promising progression. Scheduled for release on March 28th, 'Paid In Memories' is expected to be a bold expression, featuring collaborations with Ari Lennox, Lil Wayne, Big Sean, and Miguel.
The new single 'Psilocybin & Daisies' is currently out, merging her captivating R&B style with elements of her guitar-driven beginnings. The song candidly shares her truth, incorporating an interpolation of the classic '1979' by Smashing Pumpkins.
Written by Jessie and produced in collaboration with SCUM and Warren ‘Oak’ Felder, Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins has expressed his admiration for the outcome, stating: “I’m very honoured and touched that Jessie would choose to build something so new and beautiful from the bones of one of my songs. She’s incredibly talented and possesses that effortless, genuine quality in her voice that I admire in the best singers.”
A live video shot by Jon Primo is now available, with Jessie commenting:
“Some music is undeniably timeless. To be able to borrow from a timeless song and incorporate it into my own is an industry trick that I’d be foolish not to use. Thanks to Billy for allowing me this opportunity. Thanks to The Smashing Pumpkins. Thanks to mushrooms. And thanks to me.”
