"An entire album's worth of concepts condensed into three minutes..."
American indie pop band feeble little horse is back with their new single ‘This Is Real’.
Their 2023 album ‘Girl With Fish’ was brimming with creative ideas, seamlessly blending various elements of pop-infused indie into a surreal and entirely captivating mixture.
Set to tour Europe this summer, including appearances at Primavera and Outbreak, feeble little horse will also perform at the Garage in London on June 12th.
The new track ‘This Is Real’ marks their return, showcasing the Pittsburgh group’s ability to weave together diverse ideas into a captivatingly melodic experience.
It represents a highly intricate piece of songwriting, resembling a mini-epic where different sections blend into each other.
Lydia Slocum shares, “I believe it’s significant that this song is released as we turn the page, but also to appreciate the product of spending an unprecedented amount of time on it as a band. Our previous two albums were written with a sense of urgency I can’t quite describe, while I feel ‘This Is Real’ was created during a calmer moment, if that makes sense.”
She continues, “I wouldn’t say this track serves as a prophecy for our future sound, but it has become something unique that no other song can truly match. Personally, I evolved tremendously from the start to the finish of the writing process; the song began when we had to cancel our tour, and we only just wrapped it up a few weeks ago. I hope this track acts as a time capsule for our fans, just as it has been for us.”
Drummer Jake Kelly adds, “For me, this track is an entire album's worth of ideas packed into three minutes; it’s the best work we’ve done together so far.”
Tune in now.
