Alan Sparhawk Reveals Solo Album Titled ‘With Trampled Turtles’

Alan Sparhawk has announced the upcoming release of his new album, 'With Trampled Turtles'.

The American artist, who co-founded the band Low, led the project alongside his wife, Mimi Parker. Unfortunately, Mimi’s death marked the end of that group, with Alan Sparhawk's solo project, 'White Roses, My God', serving as a powerful expression of his sorrow.

      In our review, CLASH noted:

‘White Roses, My God’ is an outstanding album. Even with its themes, it manages to be uplifting. The music is vibrant and energetic. It could be among the most cheerful albums Alan Sparhawk has put out. It resonates with love and yearning throughout, and the production style would fit seamlessly into a trap mixtape.

Scheduled for release on May 30th, the new album 'With Trampled By Turtles' sees the songwriter shifting direction once again.

The album was created in collaboration with longtime friends and fellow Minnesotans, Trampled By Turtles, and was recorded at the end of 2023 at Pachyderm Studios in Cannon Falls, Minnesota.

The collaboration came about serendipitously, and Alan Sparhawk decided to seize the opportunity when they found time in their schedules. “When the opportunity seems right,” he remarked, “you jump.”

'With Trampled By Turtles' is now available for pre-order; those who order from the Sub Pop Mega Mart (North America), Mega Mart 2 (UK/EU), and independent retailers worldwide will receive a limited Loser Edition on Sunflare Vinyl (US) and Cream White Vinyl (UK/EU) while supplies last.
