The Vintage Frames Company's SS25 collection draws inspiration from Larry Clark's film KIDS.

The collection inspired by the '90s features five main designs, each drawing influence from a character in the 1995 cult classic film.

Since its inception in 2008, Vintage Frames Company has established itself as the premier destination for vintage eyewear from around the world. Founder and creative director Corey Shapiro has successfully showcased over 1.5 million pairs of vintage frames dating back to the 1950s and counts A-list celebrities like Jay-Z and Lady Gaga among his clientele. With a growing demand for rare pieces that had been sourced, Shapiro transitioned from collector to craftsman in 2018 with the launch of his first silhouette, the Detroit Player.

The initial original design from the brand was hugely successful, motivating Shapiro and the VFC team to pursue further in-house creations. Drawing on their extensive knowledge and experience accumulated over a decade in the eyewear industry, the brand embarked on designing their own collections, rooted in their core philosophy – to preserve the history of eyewear – while bringing notable moments from pop culture into contemporary relevance.

This Spring, The Vintage Frames Company unveils a collection of five pieces derived from Larry Clark’s 1995 cult classic KIDS. The collection includes five pairs of retro black acetate frames inspired by the five main characters of KIDS: The Telly features a classic 90s silhouette with rounded lenses and drop-temple side branches; The Ruby offers a softer, modern interpretation of slim, Matrix-style glasses; The Jennie stands out with oversized frames and vibrant sheer lenses; The Casper is bold with distinctly rounded lenses; and finally, The Hunter, inspired by the late skateboarding icon Harold Hunter, echoes the frames he wore, designed with smooth curves to reflect the shape of his skateboard.

These pieces are available exclusively on vintageframescompany.com.
