London-based wordsmith Kae Tempest has unveiled their impactful new single ‘Statue In The Square.’
This release marks Kae’s return after almost three years, following the 2022 track ‘I Saw Light’ featuring Grian Chatten, from the album ‘The Line Is A Curve.’
‘Statue In The Square’ serves as a definitive statement, pulling listeners into Kae’s universe, shaped by the pivotal moments of South London streets and the various voices that resonate within.
A recognized artist, lyricist, poet, playwright, and author, Kae Tempest’s talent for world-building is evident throughout this audio snapshot.
Now available through Island Records and produced by Fraser T Smith (known for work with Stormzy, Adele, and Dave), the accompanying video was filmed in Deptford by Boy Dykes and showcases a range of impactful icons and voices from the community, including Princess Julia, Joelle Taylor, Sweatmother, Debbie Smith, and Dr Ronx.
