It highlights her verbal autonomy...
UK rapper Little Simz makes a comeback with her new track ‘Free’.
The London artist’s 2021 album ‘Sometimes I Might Be Introvert’ dominated, winning both the Mercury Prize and a BRIT Award.
A surprise release titled ‘NO THANK YOU’ came at the end of 2022, and Simz further enhanced her acting portfolio with a significant role in Top Boy.
Her upcoming album ‘Lotus’ is set to drop on May 9th, with recent single ‘Flood’ – created in collaboration with Obongjayar and Moonchild Sanelly – leading the way.
The new single ‘Free’ showcases Simbi’s lyrical prowess. Initially penned as a poem, it was later adapted into a musical piece in the studio – the words transforming into instruments, as Little Simz conveys a message of independence and the transformative essence of love.
“Love will never judge you for your pain,” raps Simz, accompanied by lush, cinematic production reminiscent of Axelrod, led by Miles Clinton James.
Tune in now.
