Caity Baser returns with an upbeat and reflective new song, ‘Running From Myself,’ released through Capitol Records. This new single follows closely after her recent track, ‘Watch That Girl (She’s Gonna Say It’). Both songs were recorded with a full live band, featuring fourteen strings and six brass musicians, marking a new path for the pop artist. The 22-year-old shared that the inspiration for the single emerged during a writing session with the pop duo Oh Wonder, with whom she co-wrote the song. "One of us mentioned, 'it feels like you’ve been running from yourself'... and that sparked the idea," Baser recalled about the moment the song came together. “In just 15 minutes, the song was nearly complete.” Baser further elaborated that the candid track addresses her tendency to conceal her feelings with a façade. "There have been moments in my career when I felt very sad or emotional about certain matters, yet I believed I couldn’t express that to anyone since others perceived me as someone who is confident, 'I don’t care, nothing affects me'—when in reality, that couldn’t be further from the truth," she shared. You can check out the video for her new single below. Baser will also be on her intimate piano tour starting next week:
