Caroline has announced her new album 'Caroline 2' and is collaborating with Caroline Polachek for a new single.

Less than a month after their return with ‘Total euphoria,’ the London octet caroline has announced the details of their second album, aptly titled ‘caroline 2.’ They have also released a new single featuring a very special guest. ‘Tell me I never knew that’ serves as the latest track from their upcoming sophomore full-length album, and in a collaboration reminiscent of Lorde joining Charli XCX on ‘Girl, so confusing,’ it includes an appearance by none other than Caroline Polachek. “We used to refer to this one as ‘Backstreet boys’ because the opening top line reminded us of a Backstreet Boys song,” the band explained regarding their latest release. “The main riff, which was created by Casper on acoustic guitar, stood out as catchy, bouncy, and hypnotic. We collaborated on the opening top line and immediately thought, ‘this sounds like a melody that Caroline Polachek might sing’ due to its hookiness. We jokingly said we’d ask her to sing it, not thinking it would actually happen, until about a year later when we sent her the half-finished track, and she agreed!

“Caroline was incredible. She contributed extra parts that elevated the entire track, spending hours tracking additional improvised sections. We were still recording around 1.30 a.m. when we decided to wrap it up, but you'd never know Caroline was tired at all, despite singing for six hours. It was truly inspiring to witness! A few weeks after the session, we did a bit more re-ordering together with Caroline, and the song finally took shape.”

This track is part of the band’s upcoming album, set to release on May 30 via Rough Trade Records. Comprised of eight tracks, the album follows their self-titled debut from 2022 and begins with their previous single, ‘Total euphoria,’ which was released last month.
