London-based artist James Massiah has announced his upcoming project titled 'Bounty Law'.
The wordsmith reached new artistic heights with the critically acclaimed 'True Romance' EP in 2024, a reflective collection of songs that intertwined elements of club culture with his sharp and insightful lyrics.
Once again entering the studio, the new endeavor 'Bounty Law' is described as Massiah's very own take on a Western film, with moral boundaries blurred throughout its narrative.
Delivering raw stories of physical (un)fulfillment, the project poses questions such as: “Was it my fault that we split up? When did our communication falter? Was I out partying too often? Should we have settled down? Is it too late?”
Crafting a distinctive sonic landscape, Massiah brought together notable production collaborators, including Cajm (Powerplant, Coby Sey), Cold (Jawnino), 3o (Jawnino, Squintz), and Poundshop (feeo), along with Oliver Twist, and the project was mastered by Tommy Wallwork (Mount Kimbie).
'Bounty Law' is set to be released on May 9th, featuring the new single 'Dobermann', showcasing a fully unleashed talent—raw, intense, and expressive, it's James Massiah at his best.
