Drifting melodies infused with shoegaze...
Seattle-based artist Sea Lemon has unveiled her latest track ‘Give In’.
The songwriter, whose real name is Natalie Lew, was brought up in the Pacific Northwest, spending her childhood by the coast. Captivated by underwater worlds, she has translated those images of aquatic realms into captivating dream pop.
Her upcoming album ‘Diving For A Prize’, set for release on May 30th through Luminelle Recordings, blends shoegaze-inspired soundscapes with insightful lyrics.
Take her single ‘Give In’ as an example. Superficially, it’s a cascade of sound, with ethereal harmonies and neo-psych influences creating a truly enchanting experience.
She sings: “Outside a treehouse is a home / Who lives in there you’ll never know / At night the blinds are falling off the wall / You find a light careening from a hole…”
In her lyrics, Sea Lemon addresses mental health and her encounters with intrusive thoughts. She shares…
“Growing up, I wasn’t aware of the term ‘intrusive thoughts’ but frequently experienced them. As I matured, my lingering intrusive thought became a desire to enter abandoned houses, even though I knew it was a bad idea. ‘Give In’ explores surrendering to these intrusive thoughts, along with the relief and repercussions that follow. The song was crafted in a single afternoon at my producer’s studio, making it one of the quickest from writing to completion.”
Tune in now.

Blurring the boundaries between intimacy and turmoil, bat zoo's third single "Frozen Milk" offers a delicate and profoundly raw introspection – a poignant reflection on grief, personal growth, and the quiet power discovered in vulnerability. The album is released alongside the new single "Animal," which follows the earlier track "Shadows."
