Real Estate has announced the release of a new compilation featuring B-sides and rarities.
The band’s outstanding album from 2024, ‘Daniel,’ showcased Real Estate reaching new heights, supported by remarkable live performances.
Choosing to pause for a brief retrospective, the forthcoming compilation titled ‘The Wee Small Hours: B-Sides and Other Detritus 2011-2025’ serves as an alternative history of the band and is set to be released this Friday (May 2nd) through Domino.
Exploring their archives, it includes intriguing items such as a Strokes cover that was recorded for a Stereogum tribute album, along with some hidden treasures, including various fan favorites.
Additionally, there’s a new track – the compilation’s opener ‘Pink Sky’ is a refreshing indie pop tune, recorded last fall at Tiny Telephone Studios in Oakland.
“This is something we've been considering for some time: a compilation of tracks not included on albums with a title, subtitle, and perhaps a range of years to give it an official feel,” Martin Courtney shares regarding the compilation. “The title is derived from the lyrics of an unreleased song we recorded during the Atlas sessions at Wilco's loft in Chicago in 2013, which also references a classic Frank Sinatra album. We view this as a valuable addition to our catalog and hope you all enjoy it.”
