Debby Friday is set to release her new album ‘The Starrr Of The Queen Of Life’ on August 1st.
Her dazzling debut album ‘GOOD LUCK’ received widespread acclaim upon release, showcasing an electronic blend of raw and authentic musicality. Following some extraordinary live performances, Debby Friday returned to the studio to create a follow-up.
Scheduled for release on August 1st through Sub Pop, the new album ‘The Starrr Of The Queen Of Life’ reveals a more powerful, robust, and fierce Debby Friday.
“I aspire to be a starrr, and I can’t suppress that yearning,” she states. “However, I refuse to live out someone else’s dream or adhere to a predetermined path.”
The new single ‘All I Wanna Do Is Party’ is available now – it is strikingly vibrant in both intention and tone, and it marks Debby Friday’s break from her past. Sensual and triumphant, the video (co-directed with Kevan Funk) features Debby alongside a group of dancers.
“The video embodies discipline and artistry. It illustrates the transformations that occur when one dedicates themselves to a process over time. The starrr symbolizes my reflections on fame, success, failure, love, power, god, death, life—everything. My starrr resides within me, and your starrr resides within you; it simply requires surrendering to it.”
