Irish post-punk band Basht. has released their new EP titled 'Bitter And Twisted.'
Part of a burgeoning wave of post-punk acts emerging from Ireland, Basht. stands out with their unique sound. They combine intense guitar riffs with urgent vocals, while their lyrics delve into personal themes, exploring emotional subtleties.
Signed to Lab Records, Basht. has opened for several renowned acts, including Wunderhorse, New York's Been Stellar, and shoegaze band bdrmm.
Set to perform at the Great Escape next week, Basht. has just launched their new EP. 'Bitter And Twisted' consists of six tracks, produced alongside Richard McNamara (Embrace) in the studio.
This EP showcases a mix of innovative ideas and seasoned experience, including some energetic fan favorites developed during their electrifying live performances.
Basht. explains, “'Bitter And Twisted' is a deeply personal endeavor that brings uncomfortable emotions to the forefront. I aimed to examine the messier aspects of our humanity—the pain we inflict, the pain we bear, and how they often intertwine. These songs echo my own battles with identity, control, love, and the hurt we sometimes confuse for connection.
This EP poses challenges for easy listening, as that was not the intention. It captures emotional extremes, reflecting the parts of ourselves we often leave unspoken. ‘Bitter And Twisted’ represents my bold, honest confrontation of these issues without flinching.”
Tune in now.
