Annahstasia has unveiled her latest single ‘Be Kind’.

The Nigerian-American singer-songwriter and visual artist remains connected to the West Coast while using her craft to explore both external and internal realms. Her long-awaited debut album ‘Tether’ will be released on June 13th, marking the end of a three-year chapter in her life.

Distributed by the influential label drink sum wtr, the album is previewed by the emotive new track ‘Be Kind’.

Now available, the song revolves around its title, gradually expanding to address various aspects of emotional depth. As always, Annahstasia’s skill in world-building is both subtle and soulful, with her understated approach lending a gentle intensity to her artistry.

      She remarks...

‘Be Kind’ represents one of the first lessons I learned. As life presents the full range of emotions, being a ‘good’ person isn’t always straightforward. ‘Goodness’ exists in a moral grey area. Attempting kindness and cultivating compassion on deeper levels serve as a clearer guide.

This song reflects a time in my life when my environment felt overwhelmingly stifling to my spirit. However, as I focused on the finer details within the mundane, I uncovered immense beauty and wonder in what was before me. I discovered a sense of stillness within myself.

In the dialogue between myself and others, I aim to remind everyone that we are all mirrors of one another; the actions we take in the world will inevitably return to us in some form. Therefore, it’s wise to pause, take a few deep breaths, and rediscover kindness. I truly believe that’s the world we all desire—a kinder, softer one.

      Tune in now.
