Check out the new single 'Inept Apollo'...
Nation Of Language have officially signed with Sub Pop.
The Brooklyn-based band blends post-punk with delicate electronics, and their captivating songwriting has received significant praise. The trio has now secured a new contract with Sub Pop and will be returning to the UK this Autumn.
Their latest single, ‘Inept Apollo,’ is an impressive comeback—focused and refined, it elevates Nation of Language to new heights.
The band shares…
Work serves as an escape from pain. Whether it’s a job that pays or a passion project, having a clear direction and achieving a flow state can help divert attention from emotional burdens. Following personal losses and in moments of despair, we frequently commit to immersing ourselves in our work to the best of our ability. However, the creative process often brings imposter syndrome to the surface—when my inner dialogue begins to spiral, questioning if this is truly the best coping mechanism I have, despite feeling unqualified for it.
Accompanying the track is an impressive music video by our friend and brother John MacKay: it's a tribute to creative endeavors, representing the experience of living as an artist in a city. The video evokes the sensation of walking through an old warehouse in Brooklyn, filled with practice spaces and studios, with each room occupied by artists striving to express themselves and understand their place in the world. Regardless of how strange the act may be or the extent of self-doubt or pain the creator may experience, the beauty lies in the pursuit and continuation rather than the final outcome or the idea of “success.” The power of creation belongs to everyone and doesn’t require validation from anyone.
Tune in now.
