Ten Artists to Keep an Eye On at GALA’s Tenth Anniversary

Numerous independent events and festivals are making an impact across the nation. However, with independence also come heightened challenges. Consequently, it is vital to acknowledge and celebrate those that have overcome difficulties and continued to thrive. Now celebrating its 10th anniversary, the GALA Festival is a prime illustration of this resilience, establishing itself as a significant player in the UK’s independent party scene.

Beginning as a modest event with a capacity of 3,000 and featuring two stages, it has transformed into London’s largest independent festival, now taking place over three full days in Peckham Rye Park and attracting 30,000 attendees each year. Giles Napier, Director of both GALA and RALLY festivals, reflected on this significant milestone, stating: “Being part of the ten-year club means a lot. Like all independent festivals, we’ve experienced our share of highs and lows, but witnessing GALA evolve into what it is now fills me with immense pride.” Additionally, the festival has solidified its place as a key event in the festival calendar, recognized for its thoughtfully curated lineups and strong sense of community.
